Remaining in the light can be challenging if you are not selective of what you let into your mind. I lost count of how many times I felt anxious, depressed and overwhelmed. Sometimes I forget that I create my own reality. I get out of alignment when I allow myself to be emotionally hijacked by my negativity or someone’s expectations.
In the past, I was caught up in this self-destructive-thought-cycle because I didn’t know how to cultivate inner peace. What saved me? Putting myself first every morning with activities that empower my body + mind + soul! I’m done playing the victim and feeling sorry for myself. Now I take 100% responsibility for my well-being.

Nobody can ever make you feel less than you deserve without your permission. When I became aware that I was giving my power away to people and situations, I began a daily self-love practice. Today I am in charge of my emotions. I don’t allow anything to pull me down. These five activities restored my sanity. I’m confident they can help you too:
1. FOCUS ON THE GOOD, WRITE A GRATITUDE LIST
Gratitude it’s a Universal Law based on the principle that “like attracts like.” This law works through our thoughts + feelings. Everything is energy. Whatever you think + feel, you manifest in your life. If you believe “I’m not good enough,” or ‘Life is hard,” or “I can’t have what I want,” then you are telling The Universe to give you life experiences that match your thoughts + feelings. Are you pleased with your reality? You may need to adjust your thinking if you want different results.
2. RELEASE TOXIC EMOTIONS, TAP INTO EMOTIONAL FREEDOM
If you come to my living room every morning, you see me tapping along with Brad. It’s a lot of fun! I found him on YouTube. He is a gifted teacher that showed me emotional freedom is at my fingertips. EFT is a wonderful tool for removing negative emotions that limit your success. 3. BALANCE THE CHAKRAS, TUNE INTO A HIGHER FREQUENCY
Another powerful habit of my daily self-love practice is Jonathan Goldman’s healing chakra sounds, it takes only 7 minutes! This video balances your chakras and activates greater health + harmony. I know my cells are super happy when my body begins to vibrate during this meditation. To receive maximum benefits from this experience, simply listen to each chakra sound and enjoy pure bliss:
4. PRACTICE THE 5 TIBETAN RITES, REJUVENATE YOUR BODY
After several failed attempts to find a workout that I could do in my pajamas without having to go anywhere… Tadah!!! Just like Brad’s wonderful videos, I was guided to the Five Tibetan Rites. Practice these 5 easy moves, 21 times for 20 minutes a day and you will feel more youthful + energetic. Trust me. You’ll be glad you did:
5. IF NONE OF THE ABOVE WORKS, PRAY FOR DIVINE GUIDANCE
God, grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change. COURAGE to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference. Grant me PATIENCE for things that take time. APPRECIATION of all that I have. TOLERANCE of those with different struggles. And the STRENGTH to get up and try again. ONE DAY AT A TIME.
Dressing your best can put you in a good mood but it doesn’t sustain your well-being in the long term. That’s why it’s important to have a daily spiritual practice that nourishes you from the inside out. Once you make yourself a priority, you take your power back and develop a stronger sense of self. It takes courage, commitment and consistent action.
