Do you do things for yourself?
Our biggest challenge as women is to take good care of ourselves.
When we always put family or work ahead of our own needs, we get sick.
Self-sacrifice depletes our health and keeps us stuck in victimhood.
Whether it’s people pleasing, multitasking or procrastinating…
Sooner or later, we all get in our own way.
Stress occurs when in trying to fix a problem, we create a new one.
How is that? Your present self may be sabotaging your future self.
Your daily actions or inactions may prevent you from feeling happy.
Your dreams may never come true if you don’t make yourself a priority.
You are not a product of your circumstances, you are a product of your decisions. ~ Stephen Covey
Making time for you can change your life!
To birth new possibilities, old habits have to die.
Today choose yourself with fun self-care activities.
Here are six ways you can beat stress and feel good now:
1. BATHE LIKE A QUEEN
Transform your bathroom into a spa. Fill the tub with water, pour epsom salt and drops of your fave essential oil (lavender rocks). Turn on relaxing music, light up candles and voila: the perfect ambiance for rejuvenation! Next, sit and soak woman. Then close your eyes, imagine yourself back in the divine womb, and feel its healing warmth restore you.
2. COLOR YOUR NAILS
Have unused nail polish lying around the house? Woohoo! Give your hands and feet some love with a fresh new coat. Resist the urge to shy away from bold colors. Be adventurous! Painting relaxes your mind and nourishes your creative spirit, plus it’ll keep you looking fabulous!
3. PLAY THE TOURIST
You know that awesome, renewed feeling after a vacation? Live that vibe again by exploring your own city. Visit a neighborhood you’ve never been before, eat in restaurants you don’t know, or book a night in a boutique hotel – in other words – get out of your comfort zone. Experience new places and people without having to travel anywhere.
4. WATCH A COMEDY
Feeling overwhelmed? Put aside your big-to-do-list and laugh out loud! This week, get playful: invite yourself to a movie date. Jump on the couch and turn on Netflix. Adding fun to your schedule will shift your mental state from being worried to happy. Here are three hilarious flicks to get you started: Bridesmaids, Identity Thief and The Heat
5. UNPLUG ALL DEVICES
Mute the phone. Turn off the computer. Disconnect from the world to reconnect to your life. Whether it’s the weekend or a random day at work, give yourself permission to enjoy 30 minutes of peace (hide if necessary!) Meditation can reduce your stress and enhance your emotional well-being. Silently repeat a mantra to stop negative thoughts. Try: Every day in every way, I’m getting better and better.
6. WRITE TO YOURSELF
There’s nothing more fulfilling than receiving your own love letters. Writing is a simple way to reconnect with your heart. Take 10 minutes to express what’s on your mind – it can be a quick list of what you want to manifest this year. This is a powerful exercise for setting intentions. Place the card inside an envelope, write your address and ask a friend to mail it 90 days from now. By the time you receive the letter, the universe may have already delivered your desires (and you’ll feel oh, soooo good). Need a sample? Check out the letter from my future self.
To more time for you,
